Presented at the 1968 Brussels Motor Show, the Alfa Romeo GT Veloce marked the end of the Giulia name on the brand's coupes. Initially equipped with the now famous 1779 cc block developing 118 hp, the 1750 GT Veloce gave way to the Alfa Romeo 2000 GT Veloce from 1971 onwards. Thanks to a simultaneous increase in the stroke and bore of the 1750 Bialbero double camshaft engine, the new 1962 cc engine offers a power of 132 hp allowing the Italian beauty to reach a top speed of 195 km/h. With less than 37500 cars produced between 1971 and 1977, the Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV was unanimously recognized as one of the best family sports cars of its time.
The car we offer today was originally delivered to the American market. Imported from the US to Belgium, it is now sold with a Belgian registration certificate, a file of invoices, an independent expertise report, the user manual, the certificate of origin and a technical control.
It should be noted that two Weber carburetors have been installed instead of the Spica injection system originally fitted on vehicles for the US market.
The car is in very good condition.
A lot of work has been done recently :
- repair of the bodywork to make the car rust free
- new paint in the original color (Cava beige)
- repair of the interior (upholstery)
- engine compartment: replacement of hoses, carburetors revision, new cooling liquid tank, radiator cleaning
- replacement of the rear shock absorbers
- transmission overhaul, new ring gear on the second gear and new cardan shaft
