In 1981, there was a major upheaval for the 124 Spider. First of all, Fiat transfers the entire production chain to Pininfarina, which thus becomes a manufacturer. The new model is distributed by the Fiat network in the United States but returns to European markets. It is a new version “DS” that bears the name of Pininfarina Spider Europa. The engine is still the 1,995 cc with electronic injection of the Croma, which develops 102 hp in America and 105 hp in Europe.
This 1981 Fiat Spider 2000 has a five-speed manual transmission. The metal grey of the body is highlighted thanks to a superb black stripe on the hood. The original canopy is black. The five-digit odometer shows only 20569 miles (33796 kilometers).
It is an American version imported from Arizona to Belgium today in Belgian papers.
