THE VEHICLE WAS THE SUBJECT OF A RESERVATION OUTSIDE OUR PLATFORM FOR AN AMOUNT OF € 39,500.

In the 1970s, Ferrari decided that the brand could no longer remain absent from the four-seat GT market, especially in order to be competitive in the juicy American market.
The Ferrari 400 was launched in the fall of 1976 at the Paris Auto Show. Although the line is the same as the 365 GT 2+2, an automatic transmission is offered for customers who want a long-distance GT without having to change gears. The Ferrari 400 can be distinguished from the 365 by its imposing dual rear lights. Inside, the seats are redesigned and the dashboard is covered with leather.
Three years later, the Ferrari 400 is equipped with a Bosch electronic injection system. This modification is reflected in the model's name, called Ferrari 400i.

Concerning our model offered for sale, it belongs to a passionate individual. He sells his 1985 Ferrari 400i to carry out other projects. He owns the car since 2017, without its original booklet but with the manual.

The car is originally Swiss, then was imported to the USA before returning to Europe. Its owner has spent about 18,000€ for its renovation and maintenance since 2017, with the following main works:
- Bodywork renovation: more than 100 hours of work
- New complete stainless steel exhaust system
- Repair of the fuse plate
- Repair of injection, fuel supply, hoses, tank and calibration
- Silent blocks, ball joints, brake pads, power steering and power suspension correction
- Dismantling of the tank, cleaning, change of the fuel supply
- Headlight motors and windows changed
- Replacement of neiman lock
- Interior carpet and new carpet
- New turn signal covers
- 4 new Michelin TRX tires

In 4 years, this Ferrari of collection made approximately 6000 km. In terms of reliability, it has only had one fuel failure. No other breakdown, the vehicle is reliable.
Note that the car has recently covered 1200 km in one weekend, as part of the "500 Ferrari against cancer" rally.

The car is sold with a French registration certificate.

General condition

This Ferrari 400i, in auto gearbox version, is in very good exterior condition. No body work to be done.
Chassis and underbody are fine.
The interior is in good condition but may need some additional work (see below).

Work to be done / Defects to be reported

For the purists, the possible works that would remain to be done on this Ferrari 400i are :
- The upholstery, for those who wish to refurbish it. The owner preferred to keep the original cracked, re-stained upholstery.
- The heating/ventilation system works randomly.
- The air conditioning is dismantled (no compressor).
- The electric opening of the trunks and the fuel door do not work, but the manual openings are OK.
- The passenger lock does not close from the outside. OK from the inside.
- Window and door seals deserve to be replaced.
