In 1989, when the G series was at the end of its career, Porsche launched a new generation of 911, the Porsche 911 964. Although it kept a line quite close to its predecessor, more than 80% of the parts used were new. The new rounded front and rear bumpers, which marked a break with the G-type and significantly improved aerodynamics, were particularly noteworthy, as was the new rear spoiler with automatic deployment.
The Porsche 964 Turbo was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1990 and was on the road from 1991. It represented the top of the range with its 3.3-liter block developing 320 horsepower and a torque of 450 Nm at 4500 rpm. 3660 units of the Porsche 964 3.3 Turbo were produced between 1990 and 1992, before the appearance of the 3.6-liter Turbo.
